REMOVAL TARTAR

How does tartar occur?

Tartar is one of the main reasons of gum diseases. We can keep the tartar (dental plaque), which is transparent and sticky, away from our teeth by regularly brushing them twice a day. If we do not care for our dental health and do not brush our teeth regularly, the plaque turns into a hard, rough and semi-permeable material which sticks on the tooth surface with the effect of our saliva. After tartar sticks on the tooth, a bacterial dental plaque occurs on it regularly. After that, the dental plaque will accummulate on a rough and hard surface such as tartar instead of a polished surface such as the tooth, so it cannot be removed by brushing, and it will increase by being calcified. The harmful substances leaking through the bacteria over it due to its porous structure will reach the interior of gums, and will cause the distancing of the fibers that provide the adherence of the gums to the teeth, and consequently the withdrawal of the gums. And in a later time, these harmful substances will reach the bone, and affect the tissues and the alvolear bone keeping the tooth inside the bone. Then, there will be bone loss.
Our way of nutrition is quite effective in tartar formation. The consumption of adhesive or acidic substances with carbohydrate, starch or sugar and their ineffective removal from the mouth facilitates tartar formation.

How is tartar cleaned?

Once tartar is formed, it is very difficult to remove it from the mouth by brushing teeth. The gums give us some signs in advance. Mildly red, edematous gums which bleed when touched are a sign of gum disease.

One can prevent gum disease by regular morning-evening brushing and mouthwash during this period. If no intervention is made during this period and the bacterial dental plaque becomes tartar, one cannot prevent tartar with his/her own efforts. After that, one must certainly apply to a dentist. Your dentist removes tartar from your mouth and creates high-gloss surfaces on the tooth surfaces without the need for anesthesia and sedation by using some ultrasonic devices and periodontal instruments. He eliminates all of the factors that create gingivitis. One regains comfortable and refreshing breath after this application. In the next process, protection is provided by hygienic oral and dental care. As tartar can be formed despite brushing teeth, a dentist should definitely be visited every 6 months.
