Health Tourism in Turkey
Health tourism has become talked about and discussed in Turkey and in other countries in the last 4-5 years within alternative tourism. Our entrance into health tourism, which is one of the alternative tourism fields, during these years we are looking for a way out other than travel tourism, has been realized with the Directorate General of Health Tourism established by the Ministry of Health within the Directorate General of Health Services with the approval dated March 31st, 2010 and No. 18529. We, as health and tourism professionals, will take our steps in health tourism strongly and surely to reach larger projects by coming together and growing with successful formations on the way we have started off in the making of the newly started pie of health tourism with the idea of how to make this pie bigger and the slogan of “healthy tourism.”
And the greatest objective of our project is to turn the domestic and international tourists and patients into friendships rather than simply patients; provision of foreign currency inflow into Turkey; well promote our corporate identity; and promote our city and country better.
The fact that there are different beauties and natural/cultural wealth all across Turkey has an important in the visiting of Turkey.
To turn the treatments of our patients especially from abroad into a fun time, to fill their leisure time in treatments with cultural and historical trips, and to serve all of our patients with international quality standards are among the goals of our project.
Health tourism in Antalya
Our province of Antalya has a geographic location for the citizens of some countries where the four seasons can be experienced at the same time. While living the winter atmosphere with ropeway in March-April in Tahtali, one can swim in our lower coasts such as Konyaalti, Kemer, Lara etc. And there is the opportunity to ski in Saklikent, and rafting and safari tours can be carried out. And our natural and cultural museums and historical sites add other advantages. The visits to Phaselis, Antalya Archeological Museum, Perge, Aspendos, Alanya Castle, the ancient theater in Side, Manavgat and Kursunlu Falls can be carried out with car transfers and in the company of tour guides. Places such as Pamukkale, Cappadocia, Konya-Rumi, which are close in our neighbouring provinces and which can add a variety of 1-2-day tours, can be visited.
The use of the bed capacities of our hotels, which are empty and idle capacity during September-May in the winter season, plays an important role both in bringing our hotels into use and in the continuity of employment.
The fact that there is a high bed capacity in the region of Antalya and that co-operation is ensured with a high number of travel agencies will create another advantage.
The fact that qualified staff who know foreign languages is centred in this region indicates that no difficulties will be experienced here in terms of employment.
